Frequently Asked Questions

Who's behind Gigblastr?

Gigblastr was created by Nate Aune and Shimon Rura during a DevHouseBoston event. The development of the site was funded by Nate's company Jazkarta, Inc.

Why did you create it?

Nate is a musician and helps other musicians promote their gigs. Every time he wanted to promote an event, he had to go to several websites and fill out the same information again and again and again.

We don't like filling out forms unnecessarily. (Does anyone?)

So we created Gigblastr to save us from this tedium. And now you too can promote events with less effort by using Gigblastr.

Who is Gigblastr for?

Are you an Event Organizer looking to get more people to your events?
A Venue Manager interested in driving more attendance?
A Performer trying to grow your fan base?

Then Gigblastr is for you!

Which sites do you post events to?

Currently we support event posting to Eventful.com, Upcoming.org, Twitter and Facebook. In the future, we plan to add support for MySpace and other event listing sites.

Where does the name come from?

In musicians vernacular, a "gig" is slang for a music show or job. And blastr is what we do with those announcements - blast them out to people!

Why is Gigblastr free and will it always be free?

We don't want money to be an obstacle for using Gigblastr, but we need to pay the bills. There will always be a free version of Gigblastr, but we may offer a paid service for those folks who post a lot of events every month. We'd rather charge for a premium service than have to get revenue through advertising.

How do I give you feedback?

We always want to hear from folks using the service. The good, the bad, the ugly. Tell us what you would like to see. We can't promise that will add every feature that's requested, but we will certainly consider it. Head over to the contact page to find out how to reach us.

What is Gigblastr?

Gigblastr helps you promote an event by typing in the details only once, and automatically creating listings for your event on sites like eventful, twitter, upcoming, and facebook.
